Financial Aid

What to Expect After You File Your FAFSA

Student Aid Report (SAR)

You will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) after your FAFSA has been processed. Review this document for accuracy and keep it for your records. If you need to make corrections, you may do so by accessing your FAFSA on the web. If you need assistance making your corrections, please contact Campus411.

Verification

Each year the U.S. Department of Education selects 30 percent of financial aid applicants for a process called verification. Verification is a process to make sure accurate information is being provided on the FAFSA. If selected, you may need to provide copies of documents, such as a federal tax return or a birth certificate, to Campus411. Please retain copies of any federal tax returns, untaxed benefit statements and asset information that you used to complete your FAFSA. Forms for verification are available to download.

Award Letter

A financial aid award letter is issued to you after your file is complete. The award letter states the types and amounts of aid for which you qualify at Cleveland State and the semesters for which the aid will be used. An estimated cost of education is included on your award letter. Visit the Treasury Offices website for additional cost of education information. Return your award letter to Cleveland State as soon as possible. Financial aid will be applied to your student account only after your award letter has been returned.

You should contact Campus411 at 216.687.5411 or campus411@csuohio.edu if you need assistance.
