Scholarships for New Freshman Engineering Students

Fenn Academy Scholarships Application | Apply for CSU Admission

The scholarship selection process will begin March 1, 2008 and continue on a first-come, first-served basis.
Submission:  
Download and complete the application. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Email completed applications to engineering@csuohio.edu, with a subject of FENN ACADEMY SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION. Completed applications can also be faxed to (216) 687-9280, Attention:Pamela Charity.

Frank J. Ambrose Engineering Scholarship Application | Apply for CSU Admission

Criteria:
 

Competitive merit award for a new student interested in majoring in engineering.

High school seniors will compete based on their ACT or SAT scores.  A minimum score of 24 ACT or 1090 SAT is required for eligibility.
In the event where two or more applicants provide the exact scores, an essay will be required to enable the scholarship committee to make a final selection.  Ambrose application deadline is February 28, 2009.

Award:

 

Full in-state tuition and fees for up to eight semesters (4 years). Aminimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, and full-time status in a CSU engineering program is required for annual renewal

Albert Branham Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:
  All engineering majors. Complete application and submit one faculty recommendation letter.
Amount:
  One $1300 Scholarship

Allen B. Curtis Endowment

Eligibility Requirements:
 
Chemical eng. major with financial need. Priority given to a Glenville High School graduate. Complete application and submit one faculty recommendation letter.

  One $1000 Scholarship

Calvin B. Dalton Memorial Scholarship sponsored by URS Greiner

Eligibility Requirements:
 
Civil, electrical, or mechanical engineering majors. Min. 3.2 g.p.a. and full-time enrollment is required. Submit resume and two faculty recommendation letters.
Amount:
  Two $1000 Scholarships. May include a summer internship.

HNTB Civil Engineering Scholarship

Criteria:
 
Civil Engineering major. Full-time enrollment, min. 3.0 g.p.a., satisfactory citizenship, and ability to complete a 10-week summer internship program with HNTB. An essay and one faculty letter of recommendation is required.

  One full tuition and fees award. Renewable based on eligibility

Eugene & Frances Klingshirn Award

Eligibility Requirements:
 
All engineering majors. Applicant must be at least sophomore level by fall 2007. Must complete an application, essay, and submit one faculty recommendation letter.
Amount:
  One $700 award.

Ohio Space Grant Consortium

Eligibility Requirements:
 
All engineering majors. Applicant must: Be U.S. citizen; have a minimum 3.0 g.p.a.; have at least one full year of coursework to complete. Complete application which includes a plan for a research project.
Amount:
 
Junior awards at $2000 each, and Senior awards at $3000 each. Graduate fellowships (masters and doctoral) also available.

Dr. William A. Patterson Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:
 
Engineering and Math majors. Applicant must: Be enrolled full-time; sophomore, junior, or senior status as of fall 2007. Minimum 3.0 g.p.a.; resident of Greater Cleveland. Complete application, essay, and a faculty recommendation.

S & Z Tool & Die Company

Eligibility Requirements:
 
Industrial and Mechanical Engineering majors. Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. Applicants may be full or part-time enrolled. Must complete minimum 24 credits by fall 2007, minimum 2.8 g.p.a. Essay and two faculty recommendation letters are required.

Silent Hoist & Crane Company Prize Award for Materials Handling

Eligibility Requirements:
 
All engineering majors. Applicant must: Be at least sophomore level; Have min. 3.0 g.p.a. Submit an application and original 6-8 page paper on a topic related to Materials Handling. Details on requirements of the paper are available in Dean’s office.

Charles J. Stilwell Cooperative Education Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:
 
All engineering majors. Applicant must: Be junior or senior level in 2007-08 academic year; Have a min. 2.7 g.p.a.; Have completed at least two co-op or internship semesters. Complete application. Decision will be based upon quality of student’s co-op reports, employer evaluation and academic record.

Washington Group International Scholarships

Eligibility Requirements:
 
All engineering majors. Applicants must: Be sophomore, junior, or senior status by 2007-08 academic year; Have a min. of one full year of coursework at full-time status to complete before graduation; Have a min. 2.0 g.p.a. Be a resident of Greater Cleveland area. Complete application, essay, and one faculty recommendation letter.

Cargill International Scholarships

Eligibility Requirements:
 
Chemical, civil, electrical, industrial, mechanical engineering majors are eligible to apply.  Preferred applicant must have 40+ credit hours earned by 2008-09, and a minimum 3.0 g.p.a. in major. Preference will be given to a student who has completed a Cargill co-op or internship. Renewable for 2nd year if 2.5+ g.p.a. is maintained.
Amount:
  $4000 Scholarship, may be renewable for 2nd year.
