Scholarships for New Freshman Engineering Students

 

Ambrose Engineering Scholarship | Application

Criteria:

 

Competitive merit award for an incoming fall 2014 semester freshman who is directly admitted to the Washkewicz College of Engineering at Cleveland State University. High school seniors will compete based on their ACT and SAT scores. A minimum score of 24 ACT or 1090 SAT is required for eligibility. Scores will be retrieved from studentís application to CSU. In the event where two or more applicants provide the exact scores, an essay will be required to enable the scholarship committee to make a final selection. The Ambrose Scholarship application priority deadline is May 9, 2014.

Award:

 

Full in-state tuition and fees for 2014-15 Fall and Spring semesters. Renewable for up to six additional semesters, provided awardee maintains full-time status and good academic standing within the Washkewicz College of Engineering. Awardee must also maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 based on required engineering coursework.

Scholarships for New Transfer Engineering Students

 

Scholarship sponsored by Parker Hannifin Corporation Application| Apply for CSU Admission

Criteria:

 

Eligibility Requirements:
Must transfer from a Community College
Admission to CSU Engineering or Engineering Technology Programs
Minimum Community College grade point average of 3.0.
Minimum grade average of 3.0 in math and/or science courses.
Minimum one semester of completed coursework from community college
Must register for minimum 12 credit hours for first semester at CSU.

Award:

 

$2000 scholarships for 2014-2015 academic year. Renewable for a second year based on a minimum 3.0 GPA. Sponsored by the Parker Hannifin Corporation.

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors. Need Based. Preference given to a freshman who intends to participate in College Co-op Program.

Albert Branham Scholarship

One $1,750 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors. Minority applicants preferred.

Cleveland Iron League Scholarship

One $600 Scholarship Award

Civil engineering majors.

Anthony Colnar Scholarship

One $5,000 Scholarship Award

All engineering students in good academic standing. Demonstrated financial need.

Connectors Unlimited, Inc. Engineering Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

Majoring in mechanical engineering. Senior year. Minimum 3.0 GPA

Allen B. Curtis Scholarship

One $1,250 Scholarship Award

Chemical engineering major.Need based. Glenville High School graduates preferred.

Calvin B. Dalton Memorial Scholarship (sponsored by URS Corp.)

Two $1,000 Scholarship Awards

Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering majors. Applicant must:  Be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident of the United States. Have minimum 3.2 GPA, Be Enrolled full-time.
Submit resume and two faculty recommendation letters.
Have an interest in a career in consulting engineering. Minority applicants preferred.

One $2,750 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors. Good academic standing. Renewable.

Om Julka Scholarship

Two $3,500 Scholarship Awards

All engineering majorsPreference to graduate of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District

Karpinski Engineering Scholarship

Two $1,000 Scholarship Awards

Minimum 3.0 grade point average. Must have completed or be completing a co-op, internship or part-time work experience with Karpinski Engineering. Preference to students who have completed multiple co-ops, internships or part-time work experiences with Karpinski.

Eugene & Frances Klingshirn Scholarship

Two $1,500 Scholarship Awards

All engineering majors.
Sophomore-senior year

Professor Albert Lord Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

Mechanical Engineering Major. Preference to students with financial need. Renewable.

Lubrizol Foundation Scholarship

Three $2,000 Scholarship Award (One Chemical Eng., one Computer Eng., one Mech. Eng.)

Junior or Senior Chemical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering Major. Academic achievement/potential. Financial need. Preference given to women and minority students. 

Martin and Black Family Scholarship

One $1,250 Scholarship Award

Electrical Engineering majors.
U.S. Citizen, and Resident of Cuyahoga County. Preference given to students in co-op program.

Mary Louise Nemeth Endowed Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

Dr. William A. Patterson Scholarship

Four $2,000 Scholarship Awards

Engineering and Math majors. Minimum 3.0 GPA Sophomore-senior year Enrolled full-time. Resident of Greater Cleveland.

Ray E. Saccany Scholarship

Two $1,000 Scholarship Awards

All engineering majors. Preference to students who participate in Varsity athletics. Minimum 3.5 GPA

Byron and Dreama Smith Endowed Scholarship

One $2,000 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors who have displayed academic potential, Junior status.
Letter of Recommendation from Faculty Member. Preference given to students who have been involved with student organizations and/or student government. Award renewable for Senior year if awardee remains in good academic standing with College.

Margaret Taber Scholarship

One $1,000 Scholarship Award

Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology majors.
Female applicants preferred.

Keith N. Ward Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

Junior or Senior status. Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Major. 3.0 GPA.

Washington Group International Scholarships

Four $1,000 Scholarship Awards

All engineering majors. Applicants must: Have Minimum 2.0 GPA, Sophomore-senior year.
Enrolled full-time
Resident of Greater Cleveland area (Cuyahoga County and its six contiguous counties).

One $1,250 Scholarship Award

Civil Engineering students;

All engineering majors. Preference to students who participate in Varsity soccer.
