Scholarships for New Freshman Engineering Students

 

Ambrose Engineering Scholarship | Application

Criteria:

Competitive merit award for an incoming Fall 2015 semester freshman who is directly admitted to the Washkewicz College of Engineering at Cleveland State University.  High school seniors will compete based on their ACT and SAT scores.  A minimum score of 24 ACT or 1090 SAT is required for eligibility.  Scores will be retrieved from student’s application to CSU.  In the event where two or more applicants provide the exact scores, an essay will be required to enable the scholarship committee to make a final selection.  The Ambrose Scholarship application priority deadline is May 8, 2015.

Award:

Full in-state tuition and fees for 2015-16 Fall and Spring semesters.  Renewable for up to six additional semesters, provided awardee maintains full-time status and good academic standing within the Washkewicz College of Engineering. Awardee must also maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 based on required engineering coursework.

Scholarships for New Transfer Engineering Students

 

Scholarship sponsored by Parker Hannifin Corporation Application| Apply for CSU Admission

Criteria:

Eligibility Requirements:
Must transfer from a Community College.
Admission to CSU Engineering or Engineering Technology Programs.
Minimum Community College grade point average of 3.0.
Minimum grade average of 3.0 in math and/or science courses.
Minimum one semester of completed coursework from community college.
Must register for minimum 12 credit hours for first semester at CSU.

Award:

$2000 scholarships for 2015-2016 academic year.  Renewable for a second year based on a minimum 3.0 GPA. Sponsored by the Parker Hannifin Corporation.

John And Joan Bardou Scholarship

One $1,750 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors. Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen. Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

William F. Bland Co-op Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors. Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Need Based.  Preference given to a freshman who intends to participate in College Co-op Program.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Albert Branham Scholarship

One $1,750 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors. Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Cleveland Iron League Scholarship

One $600 Scholarship Award

Civil engineering majors.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Anthony Colnar Scholarship

One $5,000 Scholarship Award

All engineering students in good academic standing. Demonstrated financial need (must complete a FAFSA). Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Connectors Unlimited, Inc. Engineering Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

Majoring in mechanical engineering. Senior year. Minimum 3.0 GPA.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Allen B. Curtis Scholarship

One $1,250 Scholarship Award

Chemical engineering major. Need based. Glenville High School graduates preferred. Must complete a FAFSA.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Calvin B. Dalton Memorial Scholarship (sponsored by URS Corp.)

Two $1,000 Scholarship Awards

Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical engineering majors. Must have a 3.2 GPA.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Full time enrollment.  Must have an interest in a career in consulting engineering.  Minority applicats preferred.  Submit resume, two faculty recommendation letters and brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Dr. Bart A. DiLiddo Scholarship

One $2,750 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors. Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Good academic standing. Renewable.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

James D. & Margaret F. Heckelman Endowed Scholarship

Up to $2,750

Electrical Engineering Majors.  Must have a 3.0 GPA.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

William Hill Engineering Endowment

Up to $6,000

All Engineering Majors.  Must have a 3.0 GPA.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Nathan N. Hoffman Memorial Scholarship

Up to $1,500

Civil Engineering Majors.  Sophomore level.  Must have a 3.0 GPA.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Monte & Usha Ahuja Endowment Scholarship

Up to $3,000

All Engineering Majors.  Must have a 3.0 GPA.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Om Julka Scholarship

Two $3,500 Scholarship Awards

All engineering majors.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen. Preference to graduate of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Karpinski Engineering Scholarship

Two $1,000 Scholarship Awards

Minimum 3.0 grade point average. Must have completed or be completing a co-op, internship or part-time work experience with Karpinski Engineering. Preference to students who have completed multiple co-ops, internships or part-time work experiences with Karpinski.  Must be a US citizen or an eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

 Eugene & Frances Klingshirn

Two $1,500 Scholarship Awards

All engineering majors.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Preference given to Sophomore-Senior year.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Parker Hannifin Washkewicz Scholars Program

Full tuition, Fall and Spring

All Engineering majors.  Agree to summer co-op at Parker Hannifin as conidtion of award.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Professor Albert Lord Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

Mechanical Engineering Major. Preference to students with financial need (must complete a FAFSA).  Renewable.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Lubrizol Foundation Scholarship

 

Three $2,000 Scholarship Award (One Chemical Eng., one Computer Eng., one Mech. Eng.)

 

Junior or Senior Chemical, Computer or Mechanical Engineering Major. Preference given to women and minority students.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen. Academic achievement/potential. Financial need (must complete a FAFSA). Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application. 

Martin and Black Family Scholarship

One $1,250 Scholarship Award

Electrical Engineering majors.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Must be a resident of Cuyahoga County. Preference given to students in co-op program.  Include brief essay or your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Mary Louise Nemeth Endowed Scholarship

 

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

All Engineering Majors.  Must have 3.0 GPA.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Must demonstrate Financial need.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Dr. William A. Patterson Scholarship

Four $2,000 Scholarship Awards

All Engineering. Must have 3.0 GPA.  Sophomore to Senior year. Resident of Greater Cleveland.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing en engineering career with application.

Ray E. Saccany Scholarship

 

Two $1,000 Scholarship Awards

All engineering majors. Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA. Preference to students who participate in Varsity athletics. Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include a brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Byron and Dreama Smith Endowed Scholarship

 

One $2,000 Scholarship Award

All junior engineering majors who have displayed academic potential.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.
Letter of Recommendation from Faculty Member. Preference given to students who have been involved with student organizations and/or student government. Award renewable for Senior year if awardee remains in good academic standing with College.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Margaret Taber Scholarship

 

One $1,000 Scholarship Award

Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology majors.
Female applicants preferred.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen. Must complete a FAFSA. Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

 

Keith N. Ward Scholarship

One $1,500 Scholarship Award

Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Major, Junior or Senior status. Must have 3.0 GPA.  Must be a US Citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Must complete a FAFSA. Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Washington Group International Scholarships

Four $1,000 Scholarship Awards

All engineering majors. Must be resident of Greater Cleveland. Must be a US Citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Watson/Wolfs Bridge Book Prize Endowment Fund

One $1,250 Scholarship Award

Civil Engineering students.  Senior year.  Must be a member of CSU student chapter of American Society of Civil Engineering.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Terrence V. and Mary K. Zuk Scholarship

One $1,250 Scholarship Award

All engineering majors. Preference to students who participate in Varsity soccer. Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.

Richard L. Bowen & Associate Scholarship Tuition, Room & Board, Fall and Spring All Enginering Majors.  Preference given to a Bowen & Associates employee child.  Must have and keep a 3.3 or above GPA.  Proven leadership ability.  Must be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen.  Include brief essay of your reasons for pursuing an engineering career with application.
