Chairman of the Board and CEO, Retired

Cleveland State was the engineering school of choice for my family.  My father, uncle, brother, and I all attended CSU and went on to become Licensed Professional Engineers in the State of Ohio.  I found the Cleveland State College of Engineering to be a challenging and first-rate school which prepared me for industry – not only by the curriculum offered, but most importantly, by teaching me how to use deductive logic in solving problems.  Seldom a day passes that I don’t draw on the problem-solving ability I developed in the CSU College of Engineering.

"Engaged Learning." As Cleveland State University's brilliant tagline, I can confirm that the Washkewicz College of Engineering works to provide that -- and then some. The affordability, quality, and atmosphere of the college are what drew me to choose CSU Engineering. Everyone is here to support you, and your classmates are people you can depend on. Washkewicz has a culture that rewards determined individuals who, in turn, help their peers, and ultimately lift up everyone. In the past, I have interned for Medical Mutual of Ohio and KeyBank, and this summer, I am proud to say that I will be a software development intern for Progressive Insurance. No other university would have given me the opportunity to be a student leader as I am honored to serve as President of the Society of Women Engineers and also the emerging President of the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers, the latter of which is the first ever chapter at Cleveland State University.
