The Fenn
Academy at Cleveland State University’s Fenn College
of Engineering, in partnership with its thirty-five member
high schools and sponsoring engineering organizations, holds
its annual Engineer For A Day job shadowing program during
National Engineers Week. This event enables students to meet
local engineers and to experience various engineering fields.
Since 1999, more than 800 students have participated in this
activity
.
Pre-registered students from Fenn Academy
high schools are able to apply through January 28, 2011. The
actual job shadowing activity will take place at assigned
locations on Friday, February 12, 2011.
An orientation for pre-registered students who have received
acceptance letters will take place as indicated below. A parent
or guardian must attend this mandatory meeting along with
each participating student.

Free continental breakfast & pizza lunch provided
PARKING: Free parking is available
in “Lot EG” next to the CSU Recreation Center
Entrance to the garage is east of the corner of E. 24th &
Chester Ave.
On the south side of Chester Avenue. Follow event signs.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
Pre-registered high school students in grades
9 – 12 who have applied
and received confirmation letters to participate in this event.
Students must be accompanied by a parent or other adult over
18.
During this mandatory meeting students will be assigned to
their sponsor in
one of several participating companies or government agencies.
WHEN DO STUDENTS VISIT THEIR
SPONSORS
Company visits take place on Friday, February 13, 2011.
We are asking participating students and their sponsors to
contact each other to make final arrangements for each visit.
Students are responsible for making their own transportation
arrangements. Students may not accept rides from sponsors
due to safety and legal concerns. In some cases, students
may have to pay for parking and lunch at the sponsoring organization.

by calling them after you attend the orientation session.
