Outstanding Research Faculty Award

The Outstanding Research Faculty Award recognizes a faculty member whose research has made significantly contribution to the Fenn College of Engineering and in the field. Each recipient of the Award will receive a plaque.

Eligibility: Any full or part time faculty member of Fenn College of Engineering is eligible.

Criteria: The criteria of the award include outstanding research in the field and significant contributions to the Fenn College of Engineering during the past five years as evidenced by scholarly activities such as

  • Publications
  • Patents
  • Research grants
  • Thesis and dissertation supervision
  • Other achievements in the field.

Procedure: Any faculty member in the Fenn College of Engineering may self nominate or nominate an eligible person for this award. The nomination should include the following supporting documents:

  • A one page summary of research accomplishments
  • A copy of current curriculum vitae
  • Any other materials chosen by the nominator to support the selection criteria

Outstanding Teaching Faculty Award

The Outstanding Teaching Faculty Award recognizes a faculty member for excellence in engineering education. Each recipient of the Award will receive a plaque.

Eligibility: Any full or part time faculty member of Fenn College of Engineering is eligible.

Criteria: The criteria are outstanding teaching and/or innovation in engineering education during the past three years, which results in successful student learning, as evidenced by

  • Outstanding classroom/laboratory teaching;
  • Curriculum development;
  • Other activities including writing textbooks and developing educational software.

Procedure: Any faculty member in the Fenn College of Engineering may self nominate or nominate an eligible person for this award. The nomination should include the following supporting documents:

  • A one page summary of teaching excellence
  • A copy of current curriculum vitae
  • Any other materials chosen by the nominator to support the selection criteria

Outstanding Service Faculty Award

The Outstanding Service Faculty Award recognizes a faculty member whose service activities have had a significant positive effect on the Fenn College of Engineering and its students. Each recipient of the Award will receive a plaque.

Eligibility: Any full or part time faculty member of Fenn College of Engineering is eligible.

Criteria: The criteria are various outstanding service activities during the past three years, as evidenced by

  • exemplary dedication to students;
  • exceptional contribution to student services;
  • extraordinary commitment to the support and education of Fenn College of Engineering alumni;
  • outstanding service to the Fenn College of Engineering;
  • noteworthy and widely recognized contributions to the larger professional community;
  • significant service as a representative of the Fenn College of Engineering and/or University to the community at large;

Procedure: Any faculty member in the Fenn College of Engineering may self nominate or nominate an eligible person for this award. The nomination should include the following supporting documents:

  • A one page summary of service activities and their impacts
  • A copy of current curriculum vitae
  • ny other materials chosen by the nominator to support the selection criteria

Fenn Distinguished Research Professor Award

The College of Engineering's "Fenn Distinguished Research Professor" initiative recognizes faculty who have exemplary research achievements.

Eligibility: All tenured and tenure - track faculty in the college of Engineering.

Criteria: The criteria for Fenn Distinguished Research professor Award, is evidenced by

  • A continuous record of intellectual contributions and high quality scholarship during the candidate's professional career.
  • A Sustained record of excellence evidenced by external funded research projects , and referred publications with graduate students.
  • Awards and recognitions.

Procedure: The application should contain the following documents:

  • Statement (no more than two pages) describing sustained and outstanding research performance and contributions to the discipline(s) as described above.
  • Summary (no more than two pages) of the applicant's current research projects and associated graduate students.
  • Current Curriculum vitae.
  • Copies of selected ten journal articles published during the last five years and / or forthcoming (manuscripts accepted )
  • Detailed information about the terms of the award and the review panel recommended by the College Faculty Affairs committee can be found in the PDF file above.
