Dr. Allen G. Morinec, P.E., has worked at FirstEnergy Corporation since 1986 and his fields of interest include Power Quality, Industrial and Commercial Power Systems, National Electrical Code, Power System Protection, and Substation Maintenance.? He assisted in the development of 6 IEEE standards and has authored 9 technical papers.? Dr. Morinec is a Senior Member of the IEEE and was awarded the ¡°IEEE Third Millennium Medal for Outstanding Support and Achievement¡±.? He was awarded the Willard R. Holland Entrepreneurial Excellence Award for improving FirstEnergy¡¯s competitiveness and reliability by implementing GPS synchronized end-to-end relay testing of high speed transmission protection schemes, 2006.? Dr. Morinec received his BSEE, MSEE, and DRE degrees from Cleveland State University in 1986, 1989, and 2005.
Dr. Morinec has instructed ¡°Electric Power Systems¡± for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Cleveland State University as a part time instructor beginning in 1996.? During this time many of his students have taken careers in the Electric Power Industry including 17 at FirstEnergy.
Dr. Morinec currently supervises 7 electrical engineers at FirstEnergy Corp. in the Transmission and Substation Services Department.
