  • 7/28/09: IEEE Cleveland State University Student Branch of the IEEE Cleveland Section has been selected as the recipient of the 2008 MGA Student Branch Membership Growth Award for Region 2.

  • The ECE department has significantly increased the number of partial tuition grants to new graduate applicants with outstanding academic record this year and will continue to do so in the future.
  • 9/4/08: ADRC Technologies Inc., the company Dr. Gao and industrial-controls expert Jim Dawson of Hudson started in 2006, received $1 million in financing from a Northeast Ohio venture capital firm. (Cleveland.com article)
  • 7/22/08: Dr. Simon received a grant from the National Science Foundation for the project titled “Biogeography-based Optimization of Multiple Related Complex Systems” in the amount of $295,879.
  • 7/17/08: Dr. Yau received a grant from the American Diabetes Association for the project titled “Stabilization of Immobilized Enzymes for Implantable Glucose Monitoring Devices” in the amount of $100,000 for Year One of an anticipated three year award.
  • 6/30/08: Drs. Zhao, Sridhar, Yu, Fu received a grant from the National Science Foundation for the project titled “MRI: Acquisition of Equipment to Establish a Secure and Dependable Computing Infrastructure for Research and Education at CSU” in the amount of $150,000.
  • 1/23/08: Dr. Sridhar received a grant from the National Science Foundation for funding of the project titled "CAREER: Improving the Productivity of the Sensor Network Programmer" in the amount of $450,000. 5/9/08: Dr. Sridhar received from the National Science Foundation a supplemental funding for support of Research Experiences for Undergraduates in the same project in the amount of $12,000.
  • Drs Dong, Stankovic, Sridhar, Yu, and Zhao won University Faculty MeritAward, 2008 from the CSU
  • Dr. Stankovic won Outstanding Teaching Faculty Award of the Fenn college of Engineering for 2008
  • Dr. Dong has been selected to receive one of the University Library's Information Literacy Grants for 2008
  • Mr. Ke Chen has received 2009 Outstanding Thesis award. Thesis: DSPACE Implementation of A Generalized Method of Harmonic Elimination for PWM Boost Type Rectifier under Unbalanced Operating Conditions

  • Professor Ye Zhu received funding from University Center for Teaching and Learning for the proposal, "Development of Network Security and Privacy Course Projects", in the current round of instructional improvement awards.
  • Professor Lili Dong received funding from University Center for Teaching and Learning for the proposal "The Development of a Multimedia Handbook for EEC 646/746: Dynamics and Control of Micro-electro-Mechanical Systems".
