Welcome to Fenn Co-op!

The Fenn Co-op Program is a structured, academic program that integrates classroom studies with paid, productive, real-life work experiences. Students complete three to four semesters of co-op often resulting in employment with government agencies, industrial manufactures, consulting firms and other private engineering enterprises. Students receive many benefits by entering the engineering profession while still in school through co-op, such as:

  • Link classroom and workplace
  • Peer mentoring
  • Direct contact with Engaged Faculty
  • Co-Op Scholarship Opportunities
  • Network with future employers
  • Earn academic credit and certificate of completion upon graduation

Students attending the Washkewicz College of Engineering also have the option to to participate in an internship during their time at Cleveland State University. An internship is typically a one time work or service experience related to the student's major or career goal. The internship plan generally involves students working in professional settings under the supervision and monitoring of practicing professionals. Engineering internships are paid expereices, but students may or many not receive academic credit for this experience. Students that participate in this program can expect:

  • Usually a one-time work (10-12 week) assignment, during the fall, spring or summer semesters
  • Typically doesn't interfere with college classes due to timing
  • Can be full-time or part-time
  • Undergraduate Students (freshman-seniors) are eligible in most cases
