Research Interests
Molecular Modeling of Transport Properties
Rate-based models suitable for equipment and insitu process modeling typically require a capability for predicting transport coefficients over a sufficient range of temperature and pressure. This research focuses on practical molecular theory-based modeling to correlate and predict transport coefficients over the entire fluid region (liquid, gas, and critical fluid) and a large range of temperature and pressure. Potential application areas include: process engineering, product engineering, oil and gas reservoir engineering, pipelines, and fracking.
Chemical Reaction Engineering
Practical models based on principles of physics and chemistry are developed to correlate and predict reaction products in terms of catalyst/enzyme/surface properties and process conditions. Potential application areas include: synfuels, organic chemicals, polymers, biotechnology, biochemical, and biomedical.
