Chemical and Biomedical Engineering

Chemical and Biomedical Engineering Department: Master Programs

Why Cleveland?

In the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, we offer two Masters of Science degrees:

  • Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering (MS BME)
  • Master of Science in Chemical Engineering (MS CHE), and
  • we are part of a College-wide Program leading to a Doctorate in Engineering (DRE) degree.

These two degree programs (MS CHE and MS BME) , although with many points in common and overlapping classes, are also different as they address different goals/aims.

The CHE Program is intended for students aiming for a professional career in the Chemical Processing Industry (CPI) or interested in the application of Chemical Engineering principles to problems relevant to Materials Science, the environment, Energy, and related applications

Why Chemical Engineering?

The BME Program, on the other hand, is intended for those students seeking employment in the biomedical or biotechnology industry, or other interdisciplinary areas bridging Medicine and Engineering.
