Our Mission

The Primary mission of the Fenn College of Engineering is to provide a World class, applied engineering education to undergraduate,graduate and doctoral students.In Accordance with this initial objective,Fenn college seeks to develop and support academic,research and outreach problems that respond directly to identifiable needs in Noth east Ohio.Naturally many at these same regionally specific endeavors achieve international visibility as well.Overall ,nothing is thus more important to Fenn college than building succesful partnership with local industry,agencies and government entities,in the aim of becoming an indispensible catalyst to current and future economic development in the region and beyond.

About The Fenn College of Engineering

Fenn Fox ImageSince 1923, the Fenn College of Engineering at Cleveland State University has provided a tradition of high quality undergraduate and graduate education in engineering and engineering technology.  In today's technology-driven world, engineering is increasingly important to the global marketplace. Because present and future well-being of the United States is intricately linked with continued industrial growth, putting trained engineering professionals and technologists are thus increasingly in great demand.

Stilwell Hall External ShotThe Fenn College of Engineering offers traditional engineering degrees in the following engineering disciplines : Chemical and Biomedical, Civil & Environmental, Electrical & Computer, Industrial & Manufacturing, and Mechanical Engineering, as well as contemporary degrees in Electronic Engineering Technology and Mechanical Engineering Technology. All of Cleveland State University's Engineering programs offer bachelor's and master's degrees in their respective disciplines. A college-wide interdisciplinary Doctorate in Engineering degree is also available, including a new specialization in Applied Biomedical Engineering (in conjunction with the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation. )

Cleveland SkylineThe college is home to nearly 1,100 day and evening students and is located on the campus of Cleveland State University in the heart of downtown Cleveland-a highly industrialized metropolitan area that includes more than one fifth of the state's population. Students have the option of participating in the University's Cooperative Education Program, the ninth largest program of its kind in the country.


Fenn College History Book at Amazon.comIn 2005, a new history of Fenn College, as told through photographs, was released by Arcadia Press, Campus History Series. The book contains rare photographs illustrating not only the academic history of Fenn College, but also the campus life and times during which Fenn has made its mark.
