Cleveland State University believes that academic advising is an essential and invaluable component of academic engagement and success for all of our undergraduate students. Academic advising provides students with direct links to their academic colleges and departments, and also provides students with a critical link to faculty.

Our wide network of academic advising provides a strong backbone of support and assistance for our students in a highly engaged learning environment. We strongly encourage all of our students to seek and utilize academic advising as a key resource to help ensure that you attain your educational goals and have a successful experience at Cleveland State University.

If you would like to set up an academic advising appointment to have an unofficial evaluation of the transferability of your credits prior to completing the admission process, you may do so with one of our College Advising offices or at the Partnership Office at Lakeland Community College or Lorain County Community College. You must bring unofficial copies of all previously attended institution’s transcripts to the appointment for review. Your Advising Office is determined by your college of enrollment.

I received my acceptance letter and would like to meet with an advisor.

The Office of the University Registrar will send you an official transcript credit evaluation, listing the courses that have been accepted for transfer credit. Once received, it is recommended you meet with your academic advisor in your college advising office. Determine your advising office.
