TUITION, SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AID

Tuition Cost

A college education involves a major financial investment. Cleveland State University has consistently been one of the most affordable among Ohio's colleges and universities. In fact, CSU has the second lowest tuition rate for Ohio-based undergrad students in the state among 4-year universities. A student with Ohio residency that attends classes full-time at CSU pays only $8,466 per year.

The CSU fee schedule varies according to undergraduate, graduate and law school student status as well as in-and-out-of-state residency.

Remember that in addition to tuition, there are room, meal plans, books, parking and other expenses to consider. Educational expenses vary per student based on personal situations and lifestyle. Other expenses can include transportation, loan fees, health insurance, entertainment and personal living expenses.

Scholarships

Financial Aid

Financial aid is provided from the government and/or Cleveland State University to help bridge the gap between your own financial resources and the amount of money needed to pay the cost of attending classes.

CSU encourages all incoming freshman and transfer students to apply for financial aid. Approximately 70 percent of our students receive some form of financial assistance. In addition, CSU also has the ability to provide need based grants, which are not required to be repaid.

The first step in the financial aid process is completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). By completing the FAFSA, you are applying for gift aid (scholarships and grants) and self-help programs (Federal Work-Study and loans).

Honors Program

Our Honors Program offers academically talented and highly motivated students and enriching, interdisciplinary, in-depth and participatory curriculum tailored to meet their individual needs.

Students who meet the program's retention requirements will receive scholarship support and be able to participate in the Honors Program for four years of study.
