eLearning Formats
eLearning courses at CSU come in three types: Online, Blended, and Interactive Video Distance Learning (IVDL).
Online - No class meetings
These courses are offered completely online. Course content will be delivered via the Blackboard CE6 course management system. The instructor will communicate with students via a variety of interactive tools including discussions, announcements, email, and chat. There will be no required face-to-face meetings for this course, but students will be expected to make weekly progress online. A computer and access to the internet are required.
Blended - Some class meetings
These courses are offered in a BLENDED format that combines required face-to-face class sessions with online interaction. Course content will be delivered via the Blackboard CE6 course management system. The instructor will communicate with students outside of class using a variety of interactive tools including discussions, announcements, email, and chat. A computer and access to the internet are required. Contact the instructor or department for required face-to-face meeting times.
IVDL - Interactive Video
In courses delivered through IVDL, the instructor normally will teach from a classroom while other classroom locations are connected via the internet. Cameras, microphones, screens, and data sharing technology provide full interactivity between participants at all locations.
