Construction Update

Construction activities and events that could impact mobility on campus this week: Physical Education Building – Roof Replacement & Exterior Masonry Wall Restoration

Location Impacted: Exterior of Physical Education Building and surrounding vicinity.

Construction started on June 13, 2013 on the roof replacement and masonry wall restoration project at the Physical Education Building. Work is anticipated to be complete by November 17,

2013. The scope of the project consists of the removal and replacement of the existing roof

system for the entire building.

IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

On Friday 9-6-2013 a temporary, partial closure of the drive on the East side of the PE building (between PE and Mather Mansion) will occur. The closure is anticipated to start at 6:30 am and be complete by 2:00 pm. Traffic will be maintained.

Rhodes Tower/ Main Classroom Plaza Deck Waterproofing and Concrete Repair

Location Impacted: Exterior south, east and west sides of Rhodes Tower and west side of Main Classroom Plaza Level (1st Floor) and Lower Level. The scope of the project will consist of concrete repairs to the walking surfaces, structural concrete repairs to the plaza structures, waterproofing, stone repair and railing replacement. Work is anticipated to be complete by December 21, 2013

IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

Work will continue on the plaza and temporary closures of the connections to the Student

Center plaza may occur as construction proceeds.

Lower Level access will be maintained as it currently is for the duration of construction.

Temporary partial lane closures will continue at 21st and 22nd street for the next few months.

Please follow posted alternative routes and avoid walking in the street along 21st & 22nd. Pedestrian access to the buildings will be maintained at all times, however some doors and or

pedestrian routes will be closed from time to time depending on construction activities. Detours and alternative routes will be posted, and notifications will be sent out in advance.

3. RT CONCRETE REPAIRS AT THE LOWER (STEET) LEVEL AT RT MAIN ENTRY ARE TO BE LIMITED TO OFF HOURS, EVENING AND WEEKENDS IN ORDER TO AVOID CLOSURE OF THE MAIN ENTRY. SEE CODED NOTE 16.
4. ALL WORK AT RT PLAZA LEVEL IS TO BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO COMMENCEMENT OF THE FALL 2013
SEMESTER. WORK TO BE SUBSTIANLY COMPLETE NO LATER THAN AUGUST 17, 2013, WITH PLAZA AND BUILDING ACCESS TO BE FULLY RESTORED.
5. A MINUMUM OF (1) ENTRY / EXIT AT THE MC PLAZA IS TO BE OPEN AT ALL TIMES FOR THE DURATION OF CONSTRUCTION. SEE CODED NOTE 28.
