1st through 7th graders from the Cleveland Public School System and their adult sponsors are offered free simultaneously held classes in creative movement, this spring, a special curriculum exploring many dances/one world.

CSU SummerDance Intensive Workshop

CSU presented three, one- week dance intensives. Guest artist/educators Helanius Wilkins, Jennifer Keller, Nora Chipaumire, and Tammy Starr taught classes in contemporary technique and somatic techniques (see also SummerDance 2006 )

Member from the Hubbard Street Dance 2 Company taught ballet and modern technique to Summer Dance Workshop participants as well as dancers from the community.

"African Roots in the Latino Dances" - Ana Dumett, director of Hispanic Ana Group. 30 participants attended the workshop, which was free and open to the community.

Master Class with Art Bridgeman and Myrna Packer

Dance workshop consisting of partnering techniques. The class consisted of 30 participants from CSU and local area dance companies.

A Contemporary Dance Technique Class was taught by choreographer/dancer Maurice Fraga. 30 dancers participating. The class was free and open to the community.

Pivotal Moments: Lecture and Demonstration by Jennifer Keller
CSU Dance Studio Cleveland, OH
Dancer and choreographer Jennifer Keller from Slippery Rock University has been developing solo and duet repertory which draws on the influences of technology, improvisation, contact improvisation, and her experiences as a dancer with Mark Taylor and Friends (NYC) and the Pittsburgh Dance Alloy. She performed three solos titled Still Life Through Window, Mind over Muscle, and My Hands are Dirty. 40 audience members.
