Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I give?

As a state-assisted university, Cleveland State receives just 29% of its funds from the state. We rely on the support of individual donations to help offset the cost of tuition, provide scholarships to our students and support our faculty and students in their scholarship and research. Every day you make an impact on our students through your work and dedication. Your gift of financial support will impact Cleveland State students and enrich their educational and engaged learning experiences.

I can only give a small amount. Should I still donate?

Yes! Our goal this year is to have 100% faculty and staff participation and we encourage your gift at any level. Strong internal support such as yours sends a message to the community that we are committed to the success of our students and the excellence of Cleveland State University.

How Will My Gift be Recognized?

All faculty and staff donors are included on the Honor Roll published on CSU's website. Gifts of $100+ to Radiance: CSU Realizing the Promise will be recognized online and in the program.

Consider joining one of CSU's Recognition Societies that celebrate our most loyal donors and are included in the Cleveland State University Foundation Annual Report.

  • The Dean's Circle — celebrates donors who make an annual leadership gift of $1,000.
  • The President's Circle — recognizes lifetime donors who have made cumulative gifts of $10,000 or have made planned giving commitments to Cleveland State.

I already donated this year. Will my gift count toward the 2014 faculty and staff campaign?

Yes! If you gave to Cleveland State anytime during the academic year, thank you. We acknowledge gifts between July 1-June 30 as part of our faculty and staff giving.

May I designate my gift?

Yes, you can designate your gift to the CSU fund of your choice. View a list of frequently used accounts, or call our Annual Giving Office at 216.687.3557.

Is My Gift Tax Deductible?

Yes. The CSU Foundation will provide you with a tax-deductible receipt.
