Cleveland State University [d] NCA 2000 Self-Study Report [d]

Final Self-Study Report Chapter 4: 15 Aug 2000

Chapter 4: Criterion 3

Cleveland State University is Accomplishing its Educational and Other Purposes

This chapter reviews the University’s accomplishments in pursuit of its educational and related purposes. The chapter is divided into three main sections. The first section presents an overview of academic changes and developments that have occurred since the last comprehensive review. The second section covers the Colleges and other units with an academic mission. The third section covers assessment of student learning. Rather than having a general evaluation section at the end of the chapter, each College is evaluated separately on this criterion as is the University’s assessment program. On the basis of the evidence provided, the chapter concludes that the University is continuing to accomplish its educational and related purposes by offering and supporting high-quality academic programming that meets the needs of its urban constituency, engaging productively in scholarship and creative activity, and providing extensive and excellent service to the community.
