"Women Rock
Cleveland" March 30 - April 3, 2007
as Cleveland plays host to the
NCCA Women's Final Four.
Full Court Press:
A Sports-writing Seminar and Scholarship Program sponsored by the
U. S. Basketball Writers Association is being held for the first time
at the NCAA Women's Final Four. Full Court Press has been held for the
past five years at the NCAA Men's Final Four.
All college and
high school journalism students are invited to attend the Sports-writing
Seminar on March 30 at Cleveland State University.
Students must
submit a published writing sample by March 15 to be considered for a
media credential to cover one of the following events.
Student journalists
selected to cover these events will write an article for a chance
to win a $1,000 scholarship awarded by the U. S. Basketball Writers
Association. Entries will be judged by Cleveland area sportswriters.
Participants not
selected to receive media credentials can still attend the Final Four
teams' practices and NCAA Hoop City, which are open to the public. The
NWBA Draft on April 4 is also open to the public.
The $15 registration
fee covers the cost of parking, refreshments, and materials for
the March 30, 2007 Sports-writing Seminar. Additional expenses, such
as parking fees, may be incurred while covering events on March 31 -
April 3. Participants are also responsible for their own transportation,
housing, and meals.
