Debate party draws crowd

A debate watch party held at Fenn Tower yesterday drew more than 200 people, mostly students.
The event, organized by Student Life, provided an opportunity for students to watch the debate and discuss about various political issues.
The debate was shown on two TV screens.
Joe Bethuy, who is majoring in international relations, is impressed by Obama’s views.
“We need to get out of Iraq and get the economy back in track.” Bethuy also said, “If we recover from our great misadventure in Iraq our country and the world will be back on track.”
Mikias F. Itanna, a sophomore majoring in electrical engineering from Ethiopia, said he was particularly interested in Obama’s agenda. Itanna’s interest stems from the fact that Obama’s father is from Kenya.
He said that Obama pays more attention to the Third World, especially to Africa, than Hillary Clinton does.
“It’s a very good way to publicize our university,” said Courtney Zemkowski, a CSU junior. “It was a great way for young people to get involved in politics.”
