ABOUT THE PRODUCTION
SHOW DATES: November 5-15, 2015

The Helen Rosenfeld Lewis Bialosky Lab Theatre
Directed by Dr. Michael Mauldin * Written by Alfred Jarry
One of the most excessive political caricatures, Ubu Roi ranks with the most original and powerful burlesques of all time. The play, which takes place in Poland or nowhere, deals with the cruelty of despots and the stupidity of the human condition. “Ubu Roi is an iconic, irreverent play which caused riots when it was first produced. This Surrealist romp takes on the excesses of power, war, and corruption in a mind-bending display of theatrical shenanigans,” says Mauldin.

LES LIAISONS DANGEREUSES and BLOOD WEDDING COMBINED AUDITION DATES:

Monday, November 30, 2015 & Tuesday, December 1, 2015
Callbacks by invitation: Wednesday, December 2, 2015

Les Liaisons Dangereuses

SHOW DATES: February 25 – March 6, 2016
Outcalt Theatre
Directed by Russ Borski * Written by Christopher Hampton
Les Liaisons Dangereuses is a tale of seduction set in France among aristocrats before the revolution. It is a classic drama for exploring decadent sexuality, morals and manipulation played as the ultimate game with tragic results.

Blood Wedding

SHOW DATES: April 7-17, 2016
The Helen Rosenfeld Lewis Bialosky Lab Theatre
Directed by Holly Holsinger * Written by Federico García Lorca
The Mother has lost in feuds with the Felix family all her menfolks except her youngest son, The Bridegroom. She arranges a wedding with The Bride, who is loved by young, already-married Leonardo Felix. He and The Bride run away, to be guided by The Beggar Woman (Death) and The Moon (A Young Woodcutter). “Told through a magical and poetic lens, this classic tale of passion, love and rebellion erupts into an explosive end. The result is something both stunning and shocking,” says Holsinger.
