The School of Social Work has received approval from the Counselor, Social Worker and Marriage & Family Therapist (CSWMFT) Board to provide continuing professional education (CPE) hours in the area of social work. The School of Social Work Continuing Education Division is being developed with input from the entire full-time/part-time faculty and more than 250 field education supervisors. The School of Social Work Continuing Education Committee, is convened by Dr. George Tsagaris, Coordinator of Continuing Education will oversee the process of continuing education seminars and workshops, including the established protocol in the recruitment, screening, and selection of presenters and evaluation of the program. The committee will be implementing a CPE needs assessment survey to identify workshop/seminar topics. The Continuing Education Division has a cadre of instructors, with the curriculum based on the results of the CPE needs assessment survey and the selection of instructors based on their knowledge, skills and expertise. The provision of continuing education opportunities is directed toward meeting the needs of alumni, field instructors, and social work professionals in Northeast Ohio.
