Transition in the School of Social Work

After eighteen years as the Director of the Cleveland State University School of Social Work, I am returning to the classroom.  I am pleased to introduce to you our new director, Dr. Murali Nair.   He has been on our faculty for the past eighteen years and has effectively performed the position as Coordinator of the BSW program.

Dr. Nair has a doctoral degree from Columbia University School of Social Work and subsequently earned a graduate degree in computer science from New York Institute of Technology.  He is a Fulbright Scholar and a consultant to President Obama’s Corporation for national and community services. Dr. Nair is nationally recognized expert in conducting review sessions for those who are planning to appear for the social work licensure examination.

In appreciation for his high expectations of academic excellence, we developed a social work honors program, one of the very few across the nation. He is dedicated to enabling students to develop professional gifts and earn degrees.

Dr. Nair received CSU’s Distinguished Faculty Award twice for teaching and service.  He has published nine books and seven documentaries on different aspects of social work.   We are honored and pleased to have Dr. Murali Nair as the next Director of the School of Social Work.

Dr. Nair can be reached by phone 216-523-7477or email m.nair@csuohio.edu.
