Political Science Department

As defined by Professor Brendan O’Leary, “Political science is an academic discipline, devoted to the systematic description, explanation, analysis and evaluation of politics and power” (1996, 633). The program in the Department of Political Science at Cleveland State University is designed to help students understand the importance of politics and democracy in their lives, contemporary public policy, and the means of influencing government to respond to collective needs.
