Charles Couch, Adjunct Professor of Trumpet, served as Assistant Principal Trumpet with The Cleveland Orchestra from 1972 to 2002. Currently he is a member of The Cleveland Jazz Orchestra, the Heritage Brass Quintet and the Nite Owls, a 1920s dance band. He also appears with his wife, Joanne Couch, in the duo Bright Seraphim performing music for trumpet & soprano. And he continues to work as a freelance musician in the Cleveland area. Previously Mr. Couch performed with the Norfolk Symphony and La Orquesta Sinfonica del Estado de Mexico. He served as Adjunct Professor of Trumpet at the Oberlin Conservatory and the Cleveland Institute of Music. While in the Army, he taught at the Armed Forces School of Music.
