Applied faculty, Viola
Joanna Patterson joined the viola section of The Cleveland Orchestra at the beginning of the 2006-07 season. Prior to that, she served as principal viola of the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and as principal viola of the Sarasota Festival Orchestra. Joanna has participated in the New Hampshire Music Festival and has also performed chamber music in San Francisco and at the Cleveland Museum of Art... She has performed as soloist in Bruch's Romance with L'Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo and the Marrowstone Music Festival Orchestra, and in a Telemann concerto with the L'Orchestre de l'Academie de Musique Prince Rainier III and the Federal Way (Washington) Symphony. Ms. Patterson is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Cleveland Orchestra Principal Viola Robert Vernon. Her other teachers have included Margarte Pressley at the Seattle Conservatory of Music, Michel Mikalakakos, Karen Tuttle and her parents, Ron and Roxanna Patterson.
