Chinese Bridge

The Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Student East USA’ in 2011

CSU Modern Languages Chinese 102 class has won an important competition this year and beat out students from many elite schools such Princeton and Columbia etc.

The name of the competition is “Chinese Bridge – The Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Student East USA’ in 2011. CSU Confucius Institute made the arrangement for our students to participate in the competition.

The first round of competition took place on April 9th when 4 students from the Chinese 102 class at CSU attended the Ohio Chinese Bridge Competition (Chinese Proficiency Competition for College Student) at Ohio State University. Competing with students from 10 universities, (Akron University, John Carroll University, Kenyon College, Miami University, Oberlin College, Ohio State University, Wittenberg College, University of Toledo, CSU), our students Taylor Day and Selena Vicario won the first and second place, respectively, and entered the final round of the competition in New York on behalf of Ohio.

Competing with students from more than ten universities (University at Albany, Columbia University, Princeton University, St. Johns University, University of Pittsburgh, Franklin & Marshall college, Asianlan Umass Universtiy, Wittenberg College, Oberlin College, Dickinson College, Binghamton University…….), both Taylor Day and Selena Vicario won the second place and scholarships to study in China.
