The Department of Modern Languages will begin offering non-credit conversational language courses for beginners in fall 2011. These non-credit classes will focus on developing practical conversational skills for business or travel and will include relevant cultural information for the language being studied. These courses are designed for people wanting to brush up on or learn a new language, as well as those planning to travel abroad or do business with a foreign country. The languages offered will vary depending on demand, but the tentative schedule includes Polish, Portuguese and Chinese.

Professional development workshops for teachers of foreign languages may also be scheduled. Check this web site for further information.

Non-credit conversational language classes will take place on the CSU campus twice each week in the evenings, but on-site and customized classes can also be scheduled (such as Spanish for Healthcare). Contact Professor Tama Engelking, Chair of the Department of Modern Languages, for more information at or (216) 523-7175.
