To enter, any declared English Major must submit an essay written for an English course during the current academic year. Essays may be any length and on any topic. The contest is sponsored by the English Alumni Association and offers a prize of a $300.00 tuition stipend for the academic year.
Deadline for submissions: March 1. The winner will be introduced at the Annual Awards Ceremony.
Essays can be submitted in person to Jane Dugan, in RT 1809, or put in her mailbox in RT 1820. Each entry must include the following information:
Essays will be judged by members of the English Alumni Association and decisions of the judges will be final. Students may enter more than one essay, but each essay must be one written for an English course taken during the current academic year and must include a separate cover sheet.
