Specialties, Courses Taught:
I'm interested in insight in writing. As the Writing Across the Curriculum Director, I design workshops for students that aim at increasing insight in writing. I've designed such workshops for other colleges and universities as well for seven years. I am also interested in assessment issues in composition and in studying reflection in writing.

Educational Background:
My M.A. and Ph.D. are both in Rhetoric and Composition from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, where I studied under Janice Lauer.
Awards, Grants, Publications:
I have published a book with Hampton Press in their Written Language Research Series called Artwork of the Mind: An Interdisciplinary Description of Insight and the Search for It in Student Writing (1995).
I am a reviewer for the Journal of Assembly of Expanded Perspectives on Learning. I've written articles that have appeared in Pre-Text, The Writing Instructor, and Focuses.
I am also interested in the writings of Thomas Merton and have articles in several Merton publications. I have also been invited as a participant in the Merton Scholar's Retreat (1996) and as a Planning Board Member for the International General Meeting (1999).
