Followed by our second annual Summer Stages Season
The Cleveland State University Dramatic Arts Program is proud to announce that due to last season’s overwhelming success, our second annual professional summer repertory season is a go!
TWO GENTLEMEN OF VERONA is a wild “happening” rock version of Shakespeare’s classic comedy. Music by HAIR’s Galt MacDermot and book and lyrics by John Guare mix Shakespeare’s poetry with pop lyrics for a playful and sexy combination not to be missed!
DARK OF THE MOON by Howard Richardson and William Berney is a the lyrical and sensual tale of the collision between the world of witches and conjurers with ordinary mountain folk set in 1920s Appalachia. Told through words, song and dance, see what happens when a witchboy will do anything to gain the beautiful human whom he loves.
ROUGH CROSSING is Tom Stoppard’s knockabout farce about two authors, two actors and a composer trying to finish their new musical before the ship they’re on arrives in New York. Complications abound in this hilarious spoof of the theatre and its practitioners!
All three plays will be done in rotating repertory at CSU’s Factory Theatre beginning July 10 and running through August 10.
