Center for Poverty Studies

Mission

As its central goals, theCenter for Poverty Studies seeks to:

  • Broaden the University curriculum by offering and linking courses and research programs, which focus on poverty and related issues.
  • Nurture and facilitate collaborative research and educational efforts among CSU faculty with interests in poverty, health, social welfare, and public policy issues.
  • Expand the awareness and profile of poverty related research on campus.
  • Organize an annual lecture series featuring academic and community experts addressing poverty-related issues affecting the Greater Cleveland metropolitan area.
  • Develop a certificate program in Poverty Studies.
