Professional Experience & Community Activities

Guowei Jian, Assistant Professor in the Communication Management Division, has been with Cleveland State University since 2003.

Dr. Jian's area of interest is in organizational communication. His research focuses on worker participation and resistance in the context of organizational change and the deployment and use of information and communication technologies (ICTs). He is also interested in intercultural communication in organizational settings. He teaches at both graduate and undergraduate levels in such areas as organizational communication theories, team communication and leadership, and research methods.

On the applied side, he conducts consulting programs on Business Communication in China for companies from Northeast Ohio. On the applied side, he conducts consulting programs on Business Communication in China for companies from Northeast Ohio.

Education

Dr. Jian received his Ph.D. from the University of Colorado, 2003.

Coming to us all the way from Beijing, China, he enjoys reading, skating, photography and traveling.
