Conference offers insight into aging
By Faith Hampton
Global Aging: Lessons from Abroad for Ohio is the theme
of a conference on aging, hosted by the Division of Continuing Education
on April 11 at Fenn Tower.
Sponsored by the Ohio Association of Gerontology and Education, the
annual Ohio Professional and Student Conference on Aging is for professionals
and students interested in the field of aging.
The conference will give its participants a chance to express their
experiences and interests with the study of aging.
Dr. Robert Butler, the keynote speaker for the conference, is the president,
chief executive officer and co-chair of the Alliance for Health and
the Future. He is also the professor of geriatrics at New York Citys
Mount Sinai Medical Center.
This conference should be interesting, especially for social workers
and nurses, said Linda Nagy, the continuing education registrar.
Applications are being accepted for continuing education credit for
social work, counseling, nursing, nursing home administration, psychology,
and marriage and family therapy.
OAGE is encouraging practitioners, educators, administrators, researchers
and students to submit abstracts for workshop and poster presentations.
Abstract submissions are due by Dec. 10.
