Saturdays discussion opens at 11 a.m. and will look at regional
filmmaking to provide movie producers and directors with the ability
to tell stories outside the typical Hollywood style.
At 1 p.m., a group of filmmakers will talk about the challenges and
rewards of low budget production. They will explore the difficulties
on making a low budget film and what future filmmakers can do with the
creative freedom it offers.

They will discuss the responsibilities that come with making a film,
budget, distribution, and the differences between documentaries and
fiction.
The Sunday discussion will open at noon, featuring Jeff Lipsky, director
of Flannel Pajamas and David Wain, director of The
Ten. They will discuss ways to promote independent films and the
importance of film festivals.

that new technology provides to filmmakers.
Dr. Evan Lieberman, professor of film at CSU, put together the panel
discussion, which are free and open to the public.
Programming for the festival this year is extraordinary. It is
one great film after another, Lieberman said.
CSU is involved in the festival in other ways, as many students are
volunteering this year.
I think its a great opportunity for our students to get
experience, Lieberman said.
The Film Festival ends Sunday.
