Police Report: Student threatens thief
Week of 5/1/2005
A vehicle was broken into in Lot D. The windows were broken and compact discs were stolen.
Week of 5/8/2005
A laptop and briefcase were stolen from the Law Library. A PE employee’s laptop was stolen. Two officers were slightly injured while assisting Cleveland police with an arrest. A Jeep Wrangler soft top was unzipped in the West garage and an engagement ring and CD player were taken.
Week of 5/15/2005
Hall Security is missing several two-way radios and batteries from the Convocation Center loading dock. A woman left her purse unattended in Mather Mansion, and when she returned her class-ring was missing. A homeless individual was injured at Mather Mansion. He lost his balance, fell from the porch and was escorted by EMS to St Vincent Hospital. A student found a 2-inch scrape on vehicle parked in Lot D. An altercation in the Science Building room 150 occurred when a suspect snatched a student’s cell phone. The student threatened to mace the suspect as he retrieved his phone.
Week of 5/23/2005
A parking attendant in Lot A saw a silver BMW hit a parked 93 Saab and speed off. The BMW was not located. Items were taken from room 433 in the Music and Communication Building. A flat screen computer monitor and CD player speakers were stolen.
Marijuana was found under a vending machine in the Viking Hall lobby. An unattended purse was stolen in Urban Affairs. CSU bookstore employees witnessed a male steal three books. The items were recovered and the suspect was arrested and charged with petty theft. A bag that was left unattended was stolen from the UC Cyber Lounge. A laptop was taken from Rhodes West. A housekeeping employee received harassing phone calls in the Law Library.
Week of 5/29/2005
A male was charged with stalking after a female student who was constantly asked for her information filed a complaint.
A man found sleeping in the grass outside of Mather Mansion was arrested. The male had a felony warrant.
A male placed a book in his bag from the CSU bookstore and handed it off to another male. Officers observed the situation and arrested them both. One is being charged for theft and one is being charged with receiving stolen property.
