Surplus equipment sale bids close Nov. 16 for fall semester Creative writing contest planned
for spring semester
Surplus equipment sale bids close Nov. 16 for fall semester Cleveland State University is soliciting bids for the sale and removal of surplus equipment and supplies. This bid includes the following: ’96 Ford Aerostar, ’93 Ford Ranger, a’93 Chevy van,’90 Celebrity wagon, Gateway PII computers, walkie-talkies, oak library chairs, HP printers, record players, video recorders & projector, electrical test equipment, PC stands, pizza oven, rechargeable drills, drawing tables, wall cabinet, a laminator , Omega swim timing system, copier, fax/scanner, Micron PC’s, a printing press and much more.
Bid items are located at the CSU Plant Service Bldg., room 201, 1802 E 25th Street (one block south of Payne Ave). Public viewings of the bid items occur on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 1-3 p.m. All surplus items are sold “as is” and “where is” and all sales are final. The bid will close on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 2 p.m.

Creative writing contest planned for spring semester The Department of English will award approximately $3,000 in tuition scholarships to winners of the CSU Creative Writing Contest. The contest is open to students enrolling in any course during spring semester, 2005.
Send two or more examples of imaginative prose, a portfolio of six to ten poems, or a comparable combination of poetry and prose. Include complete contact information with your CSU ID# and e-mail address. Deliver or mail entries to: Creative Writing Contest Fall 2004, Department of English — Rhodes Tower 1841. Submission deadline is Nov. 15, and electronic submissions WILL NOT be accepted. Diversity Conference opens Nov. 11 The tenth annual Diversity Conference will be held Thursday, Nov. 11 from 1 to 6 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 12 from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Joseph E. Cole Center for Continuing Education, 3100 Chester Ave. This year’s theme is “Diversity in Higher Education: Truth, Consequences, and Opportunities.”
Fees for the conference are $125 for general public registration and $25 for students. For additional information or the conference agenda, call the Office of Minority Affairs and Community Relations at ( 216) 687-9394.
Byrne directs Factory Theatre production of ‘Twelfth Night’ William Shakespeare’s “Twelfth Night,” directed by Allan Byrne, plays at the CSU Factory Theatre at East 24th & Chester for several weekends in November. Shows are planned for Nov. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21. The performances open at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, except Saturday, Nov. 20, when the show starts at 7 p.m. Sunday performances begin at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for CSU students, faculty, staff and seniors (55+), and $10 for general admission.
