Art classes offered by Continuing Ed
Fall Enerchi group starts Sept. 16 Submissions wanted for exhibition
Art classes offered by Continuing Ed Cleveland State University’s Division of Continuing Education is introducing six noncredit art classes this fall. Designing in Ink, Saturdays, Sept. 11-Oct. 23; Drawing for Realism (B/W), Tuesdays, Sept. 14-Oct. 19; The Art of Collage, Thursdays, Sept. 16-Oct. 21; Botanical Drawing, Thursdays, Oct. 28-Dec. 9; Designing in Color, Saturdays, Oct. 30-Dec. 11; Drawing for Realism (Color), Tuesdays, Nov. 2-Dec. 7. Each class meets once a week.

Fall Enerchi group starts Sept. 16
The Eat Naturally, Exercise Regularly, Change Internally Continuing Education class, a life style change support group for the CSU Community, is seeking participants. It is offered by Counseling and Health Services in the Division of Student Affairs in Cooperation with the Division of Cont-inuing Education. Persons interested in this fall’s group should make a pre-screening appointment with Health and Wellness Services at (216) 687-3649.
Volunteers will be distributing wallet cards and information about the National Sexual Assault Hotline on Thursday, Sept. 23, from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on the Main Classroom second floor bridge. Cards and information are also available in Health & Wellness Services, Student Life and Women’s Comprehensive Program.
“By and About Women: Dialogues and Discussions Film Series,” a special program for Women’s Health Month, features a variety of films of interest to women.
Films are shown M/W: 11:00 a.m., T/Th: 10:00 a.m., T/W: 2:00 p.m. in UC 362. The next two features are “Killing Us Softly (III),” Sept. 20-24, and “Stalkers,” Sept. 27-Oct. 1.
Submissions wanted for exhibition Submissions wanted for exhibition The EDGE Art Gallery is inviting all CSU students to submit work for the CSU and Cleveland Institute of Art juried student art exhibition, which will run Nov. 12 to Dec. 3. Students may submit one to three works that are installation-ready to hang. Each should have the student’s name, phone number, major, class year, title of each work, sale price and a one-paragraph statement on the back.
Work must be submitted by 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1 to The EDGE at 1844 Euclid Ave. For more information, call (216) 241-7120, or e-mail edge@csuohio.edu.
The EDGE plans 24-Hour prayer vigil The EDGE Lutheran Campus Ministry & Art Gallery will partner with Newman Catholic Campus Ministry to sponsor a 24-hour prayer vigil on Friday, Sept. 24 at The EDGE. Interested people need to reserve in advance a 30-minute or more block of time to help pray for important concerns.

Operation Ohio, a two-part Get-Out-The-Vote project started by writer Stephen Elliot, will be coming to CSU on Sept. 30 at 2:30 p.m. Part I consists of voter registration and reading from well-known authors.
Part II is a reminder call to vote from one of the authors on the morning of Nov. 2. Additional information is available on www.stephenelliott.com.
Join “TeamCSU” in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure to raise money for breast cancer research, education, screening, and treatment. The
5K Race/Walk and 1 Mile Walk will take place Oct. 9 at Voinovich Park.

According to an e-mail from Mr. Ferrari, the CSU security administrator, a Spam e-mail is circulating targeting CSU students and staff. The e-mail is being sent to unsuspecting students and states that it is from Commerce Bank, eBay and other national banks, and asks to verify bank account information. If you link onto the page and enter your information, it is recorded and funds may be deleted from your account. If you have any concerns contact your bank.
