Parking price changes begin July 1 Campus Mail Bag replaces Mass Mail Vaccinations offered on campus
Parking price changes begin July 1 Cleveland State University students, faculty and staff need to remember that some parking hangtags expire June 30. “Must Pay” hangtags ($3/day) will expire on June 30, 2004. Individuals with this type of hangtag should renew it as soon as possible; they are the same price as before.
Faculty hangtags will increase for the upcoming fiscal year. Annual hangtags by payroll deduction will increase from $432 to $444. Yearly hangtags that are paid-in-full will increase from $432 to $440. Semester hangtags for the fall will increase from $166 to $171 and will be available for sale July 1. The renovation of the plaza between Rhodes Tower and University Center will cause the UC parking area to close in approximately one or two weeks. No date is set for completion of the renovation, or for reopening the parking lot.
Buy your home copies of Microsoft software from the Cleveland State University Bookstore immediately. At the end of June, CSU’s current contract with Microsoft will expire and students will not be able to receive the same discounts as before for their home use. Details of the new contract are currently unknown.
Campus Mail Bag replaces Mass Mail Beginning July 1 the Campus Mail Bag will post all the announcements and events you would normally receive through Mass Mail on the CSU Home page. To make the transition, an email will be sent twice a week for the next six months with links and the subject line of the most recent postings. Vaccinations offered on campus Health and Wellness Services is offering Hepatitis A vaccinations to the campus community this summer for $20—half the normal price. For more information, or to schedule an appointment, call CSU Health and Wellness Services at (216) 687-3649. The offer expires on Aug. 15 and will only be available while supplies last.
Internet failure wasn't only on CSU campus Information Services and Technology at CSU received reports of internet outages when trying to connect to many Web sites including Yahoo, Google, and Microsoft on Tuesday, June 15.
The outages were nationwide and happened between 8:45 a.m. EDT and lasted about two hours. A Web distributor Akamai Technologies Inc. spokesman Jeff Young, said, “This was an attack, a large-scale, international attack on Internet infrastructure.
The head of the Department of Homeland Security’s cyber security division, Amit Yoran disagrees with Akamai Technologies Inc. theory. An investigation is taking place, no further information is now available.
Keynote System Inc., a Web performance measurement service, said the only sites with problems on last Tuesday were served by Akamai.
Cleveland State will host a “Transfer Day” program for people interested in transferring to CSU or resuming college in University Center on Saturday, June 26 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.
Transfer Day focuses on students who have already started their degrees and want to either transfer to Cleveland State from a different college or resume completion of a degree that has been put on hold.
Representatives from many departments will be on hand to offer advice and information regarding transferring to CSU and their respective departments.
Students will have also be able to find out what credits will be accepted before they apply if they bring their official transcripts in a sealed envelope from their college.
