TheaterWorks presents play festival

TheaterWorks will present the second annual spring play festival, which includes seven original works written by student playwrights for the department of English. The festival, which began on Thursday, April 28, will run through Sunday, May 8. All performances are held at the Factory Theater (1833 E. 23rd St. at the corner of East 24th Street and Chester Avenue) and are free and open to the public. Black student union hosts unity ball

The Black Student Union is hosting an end of the year celebration on Saturday, May 7 at 7 p.m. in Mather Mansion. The attire for the “Unity Ball” should be semi-formal. CSU holds surplus property bid

Cleveland State University is soliciting bids for the sale and removal of surplus equipment. All bids must be in a sealed envelope marked with “Bid 408WE” and delivered to the purchasing department at the Keith Building room 1414 (1621 Euclid Ave) no later than 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10.

College of business expands borders

The James J. Nance College of Business Administration will present a one-day seminar on Friday, May 13 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Glickman-Miller Hall at the Maxine Goodman College of Urban Affairs (1717 Euclid Ave). The program is the first of a series designed for small and medium sized enterprises, and offers a step-by-step approach to international business expansion, including exporting, sourcing and foreign investment options. CSU offers four summer sections

Cleveland State University’s summer sessions begin May 21 through July 5. The sessions last between six to 12 weeks. Classes are offered during the day, evening and weekend. The summer course schedule is available on the CSU’s Web site.

CSU welcomes alumni for reunion

Cleveland State University will host a three-day alumni reunion weekend beginning Thursday, June 2 with the third annual “Alumni Juried Art Exhibition,” from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the EDGE Art Gallery (1844 Euclid Ave). Alumni are invited to submit one to three works; the entry fee is $20 per artist and the deadline is Monday, May 23 at 6 p.m. The “Distinguished Alumni Awards Dinner” will take place on Friday, June 3 at 6 p.m. at the Joseph E. Cole Center for Continuing Education. Tickets are $50 each for Alumni Association members and $60 for nonmembers. The weekend ends with an Alumni College Breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and campus tours at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4. To make reservations for the awards dinner, please call (216) 687-2078.

Alumni Association presents social

Cleveland State University’s Alumni Association will present a “Star-Studded Extravaganza” on Saturday, June 4, at the Galleria. The event will feature nationally known comedians, regional music, and unique cuisine from local chefs. The ticketed event is open to the public, with the VIP reception at 5 p.m. and food-tasting at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $35 (entertainment only), $55 (entertainment and tasting), $95 (VIP reception, tasting, and entertainment). Engineering discovery camp planned

CSU’s College of Education and Human Services and Fenn College of Engineering will offer science and technology programs this summer for middle and high school students. Admittance is on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call (216) 523-7434.
