OMACR to celebrate Cinco de Mayo

The Office of Minority Affairs and Community Relations will keep public awareness of Cinco de Mayo alive and well on May 5 in the University Center with a Cinco de Mayo celebration.

Multicultural Programming Coordinator Martina Perez organizes the events every year, which typically consist of a morning presentation, a noon luncheon, and a second presentation in the afternoon.

In the past, the Cinco de Mayo celebration has had fun events such as musical performances, arts and crafts, as well as a piñata donated by the Department of Modern Languages.

Cinco de Mayo has also seen educational lectures given by scholars of Mexican history, as well as members the CSU faculty, to make sure that all those who attend the event learn something about the history of Cinco de Mayo.

For more information regarding this year’s activities visit the Office of Minority Affairs and Community Relations Web page at www.csuohio.edu/omacr.
