Events scheduled for campus recognition of Black History Month International Student Lecture Series today at Ten Thousand Villages Imagination 2 Workshops planned for February and March Singers' Club concert planned for Waetjen Auditorium on March 19 Hispanic Forum planned for March 5 Events scheduled for campus recognition of Black History Month Dr. Karen Sotiropoulos will lecture on “From Ragtime to Hip Hop” on Feb.11 at noon in University Center Room103. “C-Town Rocks the World” will be held at 7 p.m. on Feb. 11 in the UC Auditorium to celebrate local musicians. It is hosted by Ras Matunji. On Feb.16 “A Day of Open Houses” will he held in UC 103 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with presentations and a reception by student organizations.
Ade Sanusi will moderate a discussion, “Back to Africa,” on Feb.18 at noon in UC 103. For more information on Black History month events call (216) 687-9229.
International Student Lecture Series today at Ten Thousand Villages The Center for International Services and Programs is hosting a student lecture series on Thursday, Feb. 10. The lecture begins at 12:15 p.m. and will be presented by CSU’s Hungarian international students. Those interested should feel free to bring their lunch and curiosity to Ten Thousand Villages, 2254 Euclid Ave.
Imagination 2 Workshops planned for February and March Cleveland State University’s Department of English and Creative Writing Program will host the Imagination 2 workshop series. The workshops are geared toward writers who want direction, connection and a jumpstart. The workshops will be on Feb. 19 and 26 and March 5, 12, and 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and are open to the public. The cost is $69.95. Workshop size is limited. Singers' Club concert planned for Waetjen Auditorium on March 19 The Singers’ Club of Cleveland will present Tropical Breezes, an escape from the dreary Cleveland winter to a warm musical evening filled with Caribbean and South Pacific flavors on Saturday, March 19. The concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Waetjen Auditorium. Orders for tickets are now being accepted. Single adult tickets are $19; seniors, $16; and students, $8. Hispanic Forum planned for March 5 On Saturday, March 5, Cleveland State University’s Office of Minority Affairs and Community Relations presents the sixth annual Hispanic Community Education Forum at Lincoln-West high school, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m..
