If you meet one of the following criteria: 65 years of age or older, have an underlying, long term illness, heart or lung disease, metabolic disease such as diabetes, Wellness Services, SR 153. Call extension 3649 for an appointment. Any leftover vaccine will be turned over to the City of Cleveland Public Health Department on Dec. 1.

Second annual art exhibition at The EDGE Gallery

The EDGE Art Gallery proudly presents its 2nd Annual Juried CSU & CIA Student Art Exhibition featuring paintings, photography, drawings, sculpture and mixed media from 30 of CSU and CIA’s newest artistic talent. Jurors are George Kocar, a CSU Alumnus, and Edward Beyer. Exhibit runs from Nov. 12 through Dec. 3. Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m.- 6 p.m., Friday, 11 a.m. - 7 p.m., Saturday, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and by appointment. The gallery is located one block west of University Center.

"Lord of the Rings" Movie Marathon to honor extended edition release

To honor the release of the Extended Movie Edition of Peter Jackson’s Academy Award-winning “The Return of the King,” The EDGE: Lutheran Campus Ministry & Art Gallery is sponsoring its “Lord of the Rings” Movie Marathon Celebration on Saturday, Dec. 18, at Cleveland State University’s Main Classroom (MC) Auditorium. All three DVD Extended Editions, “The Fellowship of the Ring,” “The Two Towers,” and “The Return of the King” will be shown. Admission is $10 for all three movies and people must pre-register by calling The EDGE at 216-241-7120. Over $2,000 worth of “Lord of the Rings” prizes will be raffled off in drawings during breaks and at the completion of the marathon. Seating is on a first come, first served basis, and is limited.

Art Gallery exhibits 16th People's Art Show entries until Dec. 10

The unjuried, uncensored exhibition celebrating diversity, creativity, and imagination runs at the Cleveland State University Art Gallery though Dec. 10. All entries submitted are on display, and most are for sale. The Art Gallery is located at the corner of East 23rd Street and Chester Avenue. Viewing hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 5 p.m. The show will be closed Thursday, Nov. 25 (Thanksgiving) and Friday, Nov. 26, but will reopen on Saturday, Nov. 27.

The CSU Homecoming will be on Dec. 11 from 2:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. This event is free to all students, faculty, and staff.

Newman Catholic Student Organization to hold feast Dec. 8

The CSU Newman Catholic Student Organization is hosting a mass on Wednesday Dec. 8 to celebrate The Feast of the Immaculate Conception. The celebrant will be Fr. Bob Stec of the Diocesan Vocation Office. Mass will be held at noon in the UC Kiva. Call (216) 687-2371 for more information.

Open house for free online computer training program

Cleveland State University is starting a new free University-wide Online-Learning program called SkillPort for students, faculty and staff. Online training and online reference books offer a range of topics that includes such popular programs as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle, Java, C++, Rational Rose, Illustrator, Photoshop, Cold Fusion, XML, Dreamweaver, JavaScript, are DHTML. Find out how to use these non-credit courses to pick up some new skills by attending an open house or logon to www.csuohio.edu/training. The open house will be Tuesday, Nov. 30 from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. in University Center, Room 364, and refreshments will be served.

Nominations sought for vice provost search committee

The University Faculty Affairs Committee has been asked to appoint one faculty member to the Search Committee for the next Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Faculty Relations. They request that any faculty members who wish to nominate themselves or other faculty members (after securing their permission) send an e-mail with those nominations to David Larson at d.larson@csuohio.edu by Dec. 1.
