Newborns in Need plans meeting

Participate in making a blanket for a newborn baby with Newborns in Need. Join Newborns in Need for lunch and dessert on Oct. 23 from 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the University Center (Kiva.) Donate a phone

Donate a used cell phone and accessories to help stop violence in the home from Oct.6 to Oct. 29. Drop off locations are on the third floor of the Chester Building in the social work department and the student life office on the first floor of the University Center. Phi Alpha Honor Society and Social Work in Action sponsor the event. Check out www.ncadv.org for more information.

Workfest 2004 meets Oct. 30

Interested in an alternative spring break in the hills of Eastern Kentucky? Attend an informal lunch meeting on Oct. 30 in University Center 5 at 12:10 p.m. to learn details of Workfest 2004. Simba Maasai Outreach to be on campus Oct. 20-25

The Simba Maasai Outreach Organization will visit Cleveland State University as part of its second U.S. tour. It is from Rift Valley Province, Kenya directed and staffed by local Maasai men and women. SIMOO develops community projects throughout villages and homes of central Maasailand. From Oct. 20- 25 the director and three staff members will visit CSU and speak on a variety of topics such as traditional song and dance, storytelling and folklore, indigenous methods of conflict resolution and Maasai oral history and belief systems.
