Screening scheduled for Oct. 8 The Cleveland State University Counseling Office is holding a depression screening from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 8 in the University Center Orange Lounge.
The staff from the counseling office will ask individuals a series of confidential questions to determine if they may need to schedule an appointment with a counselor. The staff will also have literature available on depression and related illnesses.

International Day planners meet International Day, when students and faculty will get a chance to enjoy dancing, singing and a variety of international flavors from all over the world, is coming to the Cleveland State University UC Cage on Nov. 19. A planning meeting is scheduled for Oct. 3, in UC 361 from noon to1 p.m. The International Services and Programs Committee is headed by graduate student Habibe Erkin. Students will get a chance to ask questions about the set up of the program, as well as meet the participating students and staff. Students from Russia, China, South America, Japan and other countries will have a chance to present a piece of their culture. Music and dancing associated with a particular culture, and specific artifacts representing a part of the student’s traditions and costumes will be on display.
Usually about 800 students participate in this program, from about 50 different countries. (Marina Kolmanovich)
A charity pie-throwing contest will be held in front of Viking Hall Oct. 2 from 5-8 p.m. Viking Hall’s Residence Life staff will be on the receiving end of the pies. All proceeds will go to Ronald McDonald House charities. (Richard B. Zelinski)
Fall convo includes update on state of the university The annual university fall convocation for faculty, students and staff will begin at noon Thursday, Oct. 2 in Waetjen Auditorium in the Music and Communication Building.
The program will include a “State of the University” address by CSU President Michael Schwartz and the presentation of distinguished faculty and staff awards.

“Dragon Tales,” the top-rated kids’ show on PBS, will be live on stage Thursday, Sept. 25 through Sunday, Sept. 28 at Cleveland State University’s Convocation Center.
Tickets can be purchased at the Convo Center box office, located at 2000 Prospect Ave. from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. and through Ticketmaster.
