Spring Black Studies relationship workshops Women's program accepting nominations "Vincent in Braxton" tickets are available
Spring Black Studies relationship workshops The Cleveland State University Department of Black Studies is hosting a series of relationship workshops for the Spring 2004 semester. Those workshops include: “Why We Do What We Do- How our family of origin relationships help or hurt” on March 3, 2004, “Once a Player, Always a Player? Dealing with infidelity” on March 10, 2004, and “HIV, AIDS and Black Women- What you don’t know can kill you” on March 24, 2004. Workshops will meet in the African-American Cultural Center on Wednesdays, 12:15- 1:15 and are facilitated by Dr. Paula Mickens-English, psychologist, x2277.
Women's program accepting nominations The Women’s Comprehensive Program is celebrating Women’s History Month by taking nominations for “Women Inspiring Hope and Possibility.” The program asks for assitance by nominating a woman (student, faculty, staff, administrator) whose efforts, beyond a job description, have made a positive difference, whose contribution has been significant, extraordinary, and has had a positive impact. Nominations can be sent to the Women’s Comprehensive Program, UC 363 by Friday, March 12.
"Vincent in Braxton" tickets are available The Dramatic Arts Area is selling tickets to the Tuesday, March 2, 2004 performance of “Vincent in Braxton” by Nicholas Wright on the Baxter Stage of the Cleveland Playhouse, 8500 Euclid Ave. Tickets are $10 for general admission and $5 for students. For reservations call 216-687-2113. Tickets sales benefit the CSU Theater Arts Scholarship Fund.
Klima presents viola recital, March 1 Arthur Klima, Cleveland State music lecturer, will present a free viola recital on Monday, March 1. The recital will be held at the Drinko Recital Hall in the Music and Communications Building. For more information, call the Cleveland State Arts Information Hotline at 216-687-5100.
Book club to discuss Wright's "Native Son" Students, teachers, and members of the Greater Cleveland community are invited to the African-American Cultural Center to discuss some of the classics of African-American literature. On March 10, the group will be discussing Richard Wright’s “Native Son.” Meetings are free and open to the public at 5:15 PM in the Cultural Center (UC 103).
