View of CSU from an eighth floor apartment window at the Euclid Avenue apartments and lofts. The building will be completely finished by the end of June, but some apartments will be ready for tenants to move into by the middle of August.

The mail drop is an original mail chute dating from 1910 when the building was built. The post office gave the new owners permission to use the mail chute for the new tenants of the building. The mail drop has an opening at every floor. It will be picked up daily by the mailman on the bottom floor. The building has much of its original architectual design from 1910. The molding throughout is being restored. The marble floors are being restored to their original condition. The building is considered historic, so the owner has to keep the building in its original condition. The first floor will have retail space, fitness center for tenants, parking and office space.

This is a model one bedroom apartment. The lofts range from $675 for studio size to $1,450 for a two bedroom, two bathroom loft.

Euclid Avenue lofts offer nearby housing for CSU students and faculty

What better reason than a beautiful view of Cleveland State University to check out the 1900 Euclid Avenue Lofts.

The rental property, which bears the same name and address, is located directly across the street from Cleveland -Marshall College of Law. The building has 80 units, ranging from studio apartments to two bedroom lofts.

Studio apartments range from $675 to $795 a month, one bedroom apartments range from $725 to $895, and two bedroom apartments range from $1,050 to $1,500.

While these prices may frighten some, there are benefits that go along with a hefty price tag.

All units come with a washer and dryer, a microwave, and a dishwasher. Each unit also comes with one indoor parking spot located on either the first floor or basement. Rent also includes water, sewer, and garbage removal.

Every tenant will also have free access to the fitness center located on the first floor of the building, which includes a sauna and tanning bed. They will also have the safety of an evening lobby attendant and coded entry system with entry t.v. camera.

Michael Rastatter, property manager for the building, said that they consider Cleveland State students and personnel preferred customers and hope to build a good relationship with the university.

He welcomes students, staff, and faculty to come see the new apartments and ask about promotional specials for the CSU community. He said that a few CSU students and staff have already signed leases for the new apartments.

Of the 80 total apartments, he said, 15 have already been rented.

While all of the apartments are brand new and designed in a modern style, the renovation of the bulding, built in 1910, kept the classic style of the origional architecture in the foyer and hallways.

This includes the molding, woodwork, marble floors, and origional mail chute (which will still be useable by today’s tenants).

The first floor of the newly refinished building will hold a fitness center, cyber cafe, leasing office, Sommerville Development offices (developers that own the building), indoor parking in the rear, and one more retail space that has yet to be leased.
