Spring visitation days planned

Cleveland State University’s Admissions Department will have a spring visitation day for prospective new students, Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to noon, in the University Center Cage.


Black Studies host conference

The Department of Black Studies will host the Spiritual Heritage W.E.B. Dubois conference, Saturday, May 3, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. in CSU’s Mather Mansion. For more information call Regennia Williams in the Black Studies department at 216-523-7182.


Celebration for Cinco de Mayo

CSU’s Latinos Unidos organization, Student Government Association, Office of Minority Affairs and Community, and Hispanic Law Association will host Fiesta de Cinco de Mayo celebration Saturday, May 3, from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m., at Fat Glenn’s, 2605 Euclid Ave., behind CSU’s Mather Mansion.

Live music provided by Roberto Ocasio and his Latin Jazz Project.

Salsa and Merengue dance lessons with Carlos Sanchez from 8p.m. to 9 p.m.

The after party, sponsored by Veto, and Student Life, will be in the University Center Orange Lounge, Saturday, May 3, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.

The celebration is open the general public and admission for the after party is $5.


V.P. at airline speaks at lecture

The James J. Nance College of Business Administration at CSU and Right Management Consultants will present the second lecture in the series titled, “HR Challenges in the 21st Century,” featuring Beverly Carmichael, vice president of people at Southwest Airlines, Thursday, May 8 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The lecture is in Monte Ahuja Hall at the College of Business Administration, 1860 E. 18th St.

Business alumni will host seminar

CSU will present a half-day seminar on Friday, May 9 from noon to 4 p.m. titled, “Your Organization and the New Ethical Environment.”

The event will be held at CSU College of Business Administration, in Monte Ahuja Hall.

Registration deadline is May 2, and the fee is $15 for CSU students.


Student receives recognition

CSU’s senior social work major and member of the Phi Alpha National Social Work Honor Society, Joseph Cirino, will receive recognition for his work on a three-minute music video documentary titled, “Don’t Laugh at Me.”

Cirino is the videographer and the editor of this tape.

The screening of the video is Friday, May 2, at 9 a.m. in the CSU Chester Building, room 315.

Cirino and CSU faculty will be present during this screening.
