Police Report

'Nice guy' runs into trouble
April 5—Around 3 p.m. a black Jeep Cherokee drove into the Z-lot and up to a patrol officer’s car. The driver said that someone had threatened his life and caused damage to his bumper.

A female asking for money had approached the driver, while he was leaving a Shell gas station on the corner of E.30th and Carnegie Avenue. After the driver gave her money, she asked for a ride to her apartment building. The driver told police that he was just being a nice guy.

When they arrived at the apartment building, the woman bought crack cocaine from a male who had approached the car.

The woman then asked the driver to come up to her apartment to have sex. The driver refused her propositions of drugs and sex.

When she exited the vehicle, the driver noticed two males near the rear of his vehicle.

After the males threatened the driver’s life, he put the car in reverse, and one of the males kicked a dent into the bumper.

The driver told the patrol officer he then drove straight to the Z-lot, where he met the officer.

The driver, a Viking Hall resident, had two days earlier reported that three males nearly robbed him, at the same Shell gas station.

Felonious assualt occurs at Convo Center
A resident of Cleveland is a suspect in a felonious assault that occurred in the Convocation Center after a food show.

The victim, a Convocation Center employee, was arguing with the resident, who produced a weapon. Police were called to the scene.

During the arrest, the resident was hurt by his own weapon.

The resident is incarcerated and facing several charges.

Missing--Several daily-fee parking tickets
A Cleveland State University parking attendant reported a theft of parking tickets #2993-3010 valued at $51 dollars.

Apparently, a student reached into the booth and grabbed the tickets.

Mysterious message
“I am not crazy” was written 40 times on a chalkboard in the Science and Research Center. “It’s just that squirrels tell me to burn stuff,” was also written under the first message.

Late-night practice sends students from MU
Two Cleveland State male students were approached and identified after forcing the automatic doors open at the Music and Communications Building at 2:13 a.m. on April 15.

The two students said that they were there to utilize room G-23 for practice.

The students said that they had permission to use the facilities, and frequently did use the facilities after-hours.

When no written permission could be produced, the two students were allowed to place their drums in room G-23 and were then escorted out of the building.
